Writing will always be one of the most expressive means of communication in this world. I believe that. The writer is afforded an opportunity to craft what he/she says, yet the raw passion of writing often gets served better without too much interference from analytical, grammatical endeavors.

Too often, we let internal censors overtake our writing. Other times, we attempt to make something sound perfect, when the raw emotion better serves the writing as well as the reader. For this reason, most of the poetry I post here is hot off the mind and heart, without much editorial interference. This is one such poem…

handinhandwiththesunSong of Love

Let’s write our song of love,
A melody we parade under midnight moons
Velvet kisses, hand in hand,
Smiles in each others eyes…

Love is the whisper that brushes our skin
Sweet nothing kisses stir deep within
Longing and passion and tenderness lay
Cherished and embraced each passing day

Love is the intoxicating gaze in your eyes
The one that passes on questions of why
No outside world manifests or exists
Anytime our lips cuddle a kiss

Let’s scribe our song of love
One we promenade under midnight moons
Velvet kisses, hand in hand,
Smiles in each others eyes…

Love is the gentle touch on a rosy cheek
Sensation coursing veins, sensual, sleek
Eyes connected deeper than our soul’s recollection
Ethereal touch and surreal connection

Love is your hand nestled in mine
Sweet soft connection, heart-thrilled time
Nothing to replace you when you walk away
Other than the hope of our next loving day…

Let’s script our song of love
More life together strolling midnight moons
Soft gossamer kisses, fingers intertwined
Smiles in our eyes, love forever defined…
